Australian Jason Day was born November 12th, 1987 in Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia. He began his golf career at the age of eight at a Beaudesert Golf Club. When he was eight he and his family moved to Rockhampton where he participated in golf events and started winning them. Day achieved his first big win at the age of 13 with the scores of 87, 78, 76,and 76, at a 2000 Australian Masters Event for juniors. He achieved the Australian Junior Order of Merit on two different occasions and was a member of the Golf Australia National Squad. He then took seventh place at the Queensland Open. In 2004, Jason Day won the Australian Boys’ Amateur and the boys 15 – 17 division at the Callaway World Junior Championship. He was runner-up in the 2005 Porter Cup.
He is 6 foot and weights 195 pounds and now lives in Forest Lake, Queensland, Australia and Columbus, Ohio. Became Pro in 2006 after he won the green jacket at the NEC Master of the Amateurs. As a Pro he made the cut in five of his first six PGA Tour events. Day has achieved two, top-three finishes and four, top-ten finishes within his career. His best ever finish was third place at the World Golf Championships. Jason Day came in first place at the HP Byron Nelson Championship in May 2010 and the Legend Financial Group Classic in July of 2007. After finishing second two times in a row at the Masters and U.S. Open in 2011, he is now within the world’s top ten for the first time. Then, he got bumped up to the world’s number seven which is his highest ranking yet in July of 2011.
